SUPPORT WHAT IS INVISIBLE TO MOST EYES, YET A FUNDAMENTAL ASPECT OF A REAL CHANGE.

Support the well-being of children and young people by contributing for workshops on emotional awareness for them and the adults around them.

Why is this  important?

In children and teenagers we find that there are more suicides, anxiety, frustration, attention disorders and the list goes on. It is evident that the high level of toxicity (from screens, lockdowns, medication, food, etc. ) that has been increasing rapidly for the last years is causing more disconnection of human beings from themselves and therefore from life. Emotional awareness is not taught at school despite the fact that it is such a fundamental factor in human development. If we learnt to know and balance ourselves emotionally from childhood, our society would be very different, and many of the conflicts and violence would not exist.

Why do I do this independently?

For me, acting independently can be more efficient than working for a big organisation; in terms of reality, effort, money and time.

To better explain why this thought comes to my mind, I would like to share this experience I had thirteen years ago, when I volunteered in a Mother Teresa's orphanage in Calcutta:

In this orphanage there were many children with physical or mental limitations who were totally dependent on the care takers at the place. Most of these children needed intensive care because they could neither eat nor move around on their own. After feeling how a little girl who could not see, asked for a hug with some desperation, I sadly realised that these children were lacking a feeling of protection and love. Unfortunately the women in charge who worked there spent too much time on a terrace far from the children hand-washing mountains of sheets or preparing and delivering food, but in reality there was no quality time for the children.

At that moment I thought: why don't they use the money they get from donations to get washing machines and other practical utensils so they can spend more quality time with the children?

But how would the donors know if they lived thousands of miles away?

And how could the women who were there see this possibility and manage to get those practicality resources?

Then I knew that this was the kind of work I could do, to be the eyes of people or organisations who want to support but can't be on the ground and see the issues for themselves. I felt I could put efforts and resources where they are really needed.
